Reefer and dry van freight services

Chicago-area reefer and dry van trucking for freight brokers and shippers, across all 48 contiguous states. Here’s what we haul, what we need to know about your temperature, and how lane availability works.

Refrigerated freight

Loads that need to stay cold

A reefer trailer has its own refrigeration unit, so the load stays at a set temperature for the whole trip. That’s the freight OCHIR TRANS INC. is built around: temperature-controlled loads for shippers and the brokers who move their freight.

Tell dispatch what the commodity is, how much it weighs, and how it’s packed. We’ll let you know if the load is a fit for our truck before anything is booked.

Good to include

  • Commodity and packaging (pallets, cases, floor-loaded)
  • Total weight in pounds
  • Pickup and delivery hours or appointments
  • Any special handling, such as load locks or seals

Dry van freight

Freight that just needs to stay dry

We also haul dry van loads: palletized, boxed, and other general freight that doesn’t need temperature control. The trailer is fully enclosed, and the reefer unit simply stays off.

Send the same details you would for any load: pickup, delivery, date, commodity, and weight.

Temperature requirements

Give us the set point in °F

The temperature on your bill of lading is the one we follow. Put it in your request so dispatch can confirm it before the truck is assigned.

Set point

The exact temperature in degrees Fahrenheit, for example 34 °F for fresh product or −10 °F for frozen.

Run mode

Say whether the unit must run continuously or can cycle on and off. If you don’t know, ask your shipper and add it to the load notes.

Pre-cool and paperwork

Note any pre-cool instructions and anything the receiver needs to see on delivery. Dispatch will ask if anything is unclear.

All 48 contiguous states

Lanes are confirmed load by load

OCHIR TRANS INC. is an interstate motor carrier based in Buffalo Grove, in the north Chicago suburbs. We run loads across the contiguous United States, from regional moves to long-haul lanes coast to coast.

Where the truck can be on your pickup date depends on where it’s delivering before that, so dispatch checks availability and confirms each load directly with you.

Service area

Don’t see your lane? Send it anyway. Dispatch confirms availability for every load.
